Long awaited for nearly two years, the UNIFFAC women’s U17 tournament is being held as from February 18th in Equatorial Guinea. Five countries are in the running for the tournament: CAR, Gabon, Chad, DRC and the host country, Equatorial Guinea.
Cameroon and Sao-Tome & Principe, engaged in the qualifiers for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, do not take part in the competition which holds place in Ebibeyin. The Republic of Congo is also absent from the tournament.
For this first event of 2020 within UNIFFAC, the participating teams will compete under the model of an all round championship (Round-robbin); the first two qualify for the final scheduled for February 28.
The revival has already been announced in the Centre Zone, which is hosting its first tournament in several months, after the zonal qualifiers at U17 AFCON Tanzania 2019.
