The draw ceremony of the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018 took place on Tuesday, March 6th at the Minsk City Hall, the capital of Belarus. Here is a presentation of the groups of the event planned for next July.
Maksim Ryzhenkov, President of the Belarusian Basketball Federation; Igor Urkevich, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of the City of Minsk; and representatives from the participating teams, including the host country, were present for the draw for the U-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
They were joined by former national team players Tatiana Ivinskay Beloshapko and Tatsiana Troina, who also contributed to the draw.
The two African representatives will have a lot to do in their different groups. Mali is housed in the same brand as China, the United States and Italy. As for Angola, it will face Canada, Australia and Latvia.
The 2018 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup will be held at the Minsk Sports Hall and the Falcon Club from July 21st to 29th.
