In preparation for the 2020 Women’s AFCON qualifiers which start next April, Senegal played a preparation match against Gambia which ended in a 3-2 victory for the Lionesses.

The 2020 African Cup of Nations for women’s football will be the object of much desire and women’s teams know there will be opportunities to make a name for themselves.

Largely dominated by Nigeria who have won almost all editions and Equatorial Guinea that have also won the precious sesame, the AWCON is ogled by the nations and its trophy is so much desired.

For Senegal that have not taken part in an edition of AWCON since 2012, it will be necessary to make a place in the dozen teams concerned by the final phase.

On Wednesday against Gambia, Senegal showed determination by winning 3-2 at the Jules François Bokande Center of Excellence at Toubab Dialaw. A reassuring victory before entering 2020.
