Banyana Banyana dominated Chipolopolo in the final of the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Cup. South Africa beat Zambia 1-0 and is crowned South Zone champion for the sixth time in their history.
Makhubela broke the deadlock for South Africa in the 22nd minute. Despite Zambian attempts, the score will not change. Rachel Nabula, the Zambian striker finishes top scorer of the tournament with 11 goals. Another award attributed to a Zambian, the title of Most Valuable Player, returns to Hellen Mubanga.
South African Andile Dlamini is voted best goalkeeper of the tournament. As a reminder, Zimbabwe earned silver medal thanks to their 3-0 win over Botswana in the third place match.
