The Head of CAF Refereeing Commission, Suleiman Waberi, has shown his satisfaction with the performances of the women referees at the men’s competitions.
Included during the U-17, U-20 and currently U-23 AFCONs, female referees have seduced by their seriousness during the performance of their duties. And this is a situation that will be renewed regularly, according to Suleiman Waberi.
For him, the lack of competitions dedicated to women in Africa is reason enough to include female referees in other sporting events.
Having qualified people and not being able to profit from it, is therefore one of the reasons that push the CAF to include women in men’s competitions. It should be added that the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers are not exempt from the participation of women who already play an important role.
